One of the things I pride ourselves in DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training is self awareness. I KNOW there are those that believe a “bag of sand” can’t be that powerful. I KNOW there are those that are embarrassed because they don’t know HOW to use our DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training system so they call it stupid. Guess what, if that is how someone feels I am okay with that, DVRT is just not for them.
It has taken me a long time to get to this point, to be honest, only in the past couple of years. I am not going to lie either, there are STILL times when I want to do everything I can to convince people. However, I realize you can’t be everything to everyone. If you try to do so, you lose what you are about and the mission that drives you.
There are a lot of people that need and want our help. Focus on THOSE people!
If you want to be a person that randomly throws up a sandbag on your shoulder and have it roll off your back, we probably aren’t for you.
If you want to slam bags because you think it is hardcore, we aren’t for you.
If you try to make Ultimate Sandbags a kettlebell, a barbell, or anything of the like, we just aren’t for you.
Guess what, I don’t judge you as a person either! We just aren’t for you. What made being okay with this so much easier was hearing story after story of helping people that really needed us.
One of my favorites was sent to me by Faith Martin who is a DVRT certified coach and worked in the U.S. Marine HITT program…
“I began working with a wounded Warrior around January 2016. He was a bomb blast victim of two separate occasions. The physical and mental implications of these two incidents left him feeling further from the strong confident Marine he once knew himself to be. Upon meeting him I quickly began to see we needed to build from the ground up. A task like moving from standing to the floor was difficult and took some time. One of the main things he asked for was to be able to show his VA docs in April that he was improving. In addition he wanted to be able to run outside. We quickly noticed he was having issues with balance, coordination and severe depth perception issues. I started creating progressive workouts with the DVRT, specifically using the Restoration program to assist him in finding mobility, body awareness, balance and mental success. The results were apparent after the first session. By the third week he said people were not recognizing him at first because he was moving so fast. We had many teary-eyed sessions with large accomplishments. His first small run outside was life changing. He also went from cursing the bag to slowly with control and stability utilizing it with grace and finesse. He was mostly excited that from January to April he had seen such an improvement he knew that he was going to be able to accomplish his goals. He is seen In the video provided performing a max lunge with a smile on his face, this is a true testimony that not only did he accomplish more mobility, coordination and balance but was able to enjoy every minute of it.”
If stories like that don’t inspire you and even bring a tear to your eye I don’t know what’s inside you.
Stories don’t have to be a dramatic as that either. Tons of stories about people regaining their movement, lose the weight they finally wanted to get rid of, are all amazing reasons to not give people just workouts, but thoughtful programs.
Knowing we can be a part of this police officer getting healthier and able to do his job better is what keeps us going!
I have often said that Ultimate Sandbag Training by itself, without the direction of our Dynamic Variable Resistance Training system, isn’t very powerful. A tool without the craftsman or woman behind them doesn’t mean much at all.
It is the combination of a highly engineered tool with the knowledge of real movement strength that gives DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training unique power. Great fitness doesn’t have to be complicated either. Here is a perfect workout that compliments our NEW Metabolic Resistance Training program. A way to develop all around fitness in one workout in a thoughtful and progressive manner. In a way that gets you to understand and appreciate what “alive” strength training is all about.
