Developing Real Full Body Power

I love after 11 years I still get that, “heck that was really cool” feeling from DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training. Sometimes it is from my own training, but I get even more hyped to hear the success and discoveries other fitness professionals make!

Just the other day i was saw a video from DVRT coach, Ian Vaughn, outlining a great DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training series. His demo and explanations were right on, but within a few seconds of the video even I was surprised with what he said!

“I can get sore from a 40 pound Ultimate Sandbag even though I can swing an 80 kg (176 pound) kettlebell.”

Coach Vaughn is not unfamiliar with movement and strength!

Now, this sounds like something I would say in a blog post and probably would get some eye rolls. After all, aren’t I suppose to say such things?!Wink

Having worked with Ian though, I know this means a lot. He is one of the those few breeds of people that have great mobility, strength, and muscle. So, when he thought some of the drills were challenging and more importantly HELPFUL to really cleaning up how to develop full body strength, I was pretty pumped.

Partly because I know there are a lot of people out there that think that because they have other strength training tools do they REALLY need to implement DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training? It can be hard, heck, I’ve been trying for over a decade to help people understand how different and effective it is.

The nice thing about having worked so long and hard on delivering a great system and tool is that you don’t have to listen to just me anymore! Check out this great series of DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training exercises that Ian put together progressing from really strong foundational moves to some of our cooler 3-D functional fitness exercises.
