DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training WOD

 

I hope our last post got the juices flowing in some different ways in performing your DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training workouts. The 21-15-9 program can be a great way to do A LOT of different DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training workouts.

Just doing the last workout probably surprised you a bit in how just subtle changes can make a BIG difference. Going from squat and press to lunge and press I’m guessing got your heart rate jumping and knocked down your weight big time! Chances are you discovered some things about your movement and fitness that maybe you weren’t aware of, or maybe you had just been ignoring!

My goal is that you take these DVRT Ultimate Sandbag WODs and start to see how you can make challenging and yet thoughtful workouts without feeling like you have to go back to school to figure out these workouts. 

Today’s DVRT Ultimate Sandbag workout WOD is taking the same premise of lower body movement and press with rows. 

Now we are going to look at changing planes of motion (direction) and levels of instability. 

Why not just go heavier? Yea, that’s an option, but chances are you will find out even MORE about your fitness with employing some of today’s DVRT Ultimate Sandbag WOD. 

We are going to keep the programming simple. It is going to be eleven repetitions each side, then eight repetitions each side, then five repetitions each side. Yea, yea, not exactly 21-15-9, but you get the idea. 

Because there are two sides we do want to make sure you stay balanced. It is fascinating though what happens to your ability to stabilize while you are fatigued. Who cares? Trying to keep connections throughout the body is one of those unique ways of challenging strength. 

While most just focus on what one lifts, we are looking at that PLUS how strong are you to RESIST movement!
