She looked at me, dripping sweat from her forehead. She was looking like an interesting red color that was definitely the result of her pushing her limits. While she was working hard to catch her breathe, she was able to barely get out the words, “what am I even training for?!” It is not the first time I heard such a question, coming from my wife though I knew I better have a good answer. The reality is that I have always love the challenges that workouts provided. In our DVRT Ultimate Sandbag workout programs I always was able to focus on some aspect of training that I was specifically trying to get better. Maybe it was my sports background, I was able to focus on the process and even though I was never anywhere close to being a great athlete, I loved competing with myself and seeing myself get better. Some of these ideas I have to admit are a bit more philosophical than some people like my wife actually enjoy.

I’ll be honest, if I ask most people their goal, they would often respond with probably a combination of the qualities I mentioned above.
