How to Re-Think the Classic 21 Program with DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training Squats

It really is too bad. 

We often forget about more good stuff than we can ever remember. In fitness this is so true as we are hit with sooooo many different ideas and methods. 

Sometimes we even throw out great ideas because they don’t seem to fit our current philosophies. That is often a mistake because the concepts can often be re-shaped into our current ideas, especially if we put on our DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training hats;)

Years ago the secret to big arms was doing 21’s. Heck, you have probably done them! You take a weight, curl it to halfway for seven reps, then without resting you go from the top to halfway for seven reps, and finally you perform seven repetitions all the way up and down. 

By the time your done, your arms feel like they are going to explode!

Great, but what if you aren’t in the game for bodybuilding purposes? What if you want to be strong, athletic, and look great? Is the idea of 21’s useless to you? 

Heck NO!

DVRT Master, Troy Anderson (Creator or Alpha Kettlebell), came up with a great concept combining the idea of 21’s and those of our DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training program. What did we get? One awesome full body workout.

What weight should you use? 

You can use the following as a GUIDELINE for your DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training 21 Squat Workout

Women Under 150 pounds: 40 pound Strength Ultimate Sandbag

Women Over 150 pounds: 60 pound Strength Ultimate Sandbag

Men Under 171 pounds: 80 pound Burly Ultimate Sandbag

Men 171-210: 100 pound Burly Ultimate Sandbag

Men Over 210: 120 pound Burly Ultimate Sandbag

Aim for up to 5 rounds and your body will beg for mercy!!!
