The MOST Important Exercise to Master!

The MOST Important Exercise to Master!-DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training

Oooh, there are actually so many DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training I love, one of the toughest questions I get is, “which one should I do?” Of course that is a loaded question. What each person should do is slightly different based upon their abilities and needs. However, I think one drill EVERYONE should work up to is the DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training Clean and Press (well, ok, push press works too). Maybe not too surprising to you considering it is our physical standard in our level 1 DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training certifications.

In fact, I have been a bit surprised how much it has taken people by surprise! People that have gone through kettlebell programs, Olympic lifting, even Crossfit have managed not to pass our DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Clean and Press standard. That is why I love it! Now, before you think I just like it because it is challenging and I am somewhat sadistic. The truth is I love it because it should make people pause.

I know I have said it over and over again, but you can’t understand the accuracy component until you try it. This keeps being a theme for the Clean and Press because I have seen people that are strong enough and have great endurance fail it solely due to the lack of accuracy. After all, that is the wonderful beauty of using the Ultimate Sandbag in the first place. You might here about core strength and stabilizers when you talk about unstable objects like the Ultimate Sandbag, but the the REAL reason is movement accuracy. If you have a flaw, this drill will find it! It makes you practice, think, and problem solve, all beautiful things that really make you appreciate DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training.

This is where I feel like a early Saturday morning infomercial host, “AND that’s not all!”

You see the DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training press gives us a lot of the natural movement patterns we talk about in the whole genre of functional training.

-Hip Hinge

-Anti-Flexion/Extension (At three different spots we have a plank)

-Vertical Pushing

-Vertical Pulling

-Horizontal Pulling (the upper back must quickly help in deceleration of the weight)

That is pretty darn good when you think about it! In other words, a heck of a lot of good things happen when you gain mastery of this movement. The challenge for most is to understand how to do it RIGHT! Let’s face it, there is a lot of bad information out there so that is why I am having one of our top DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training instructors, Steve Di Tomaso, break down for you. Once you are able to nail this, you will find some pretty impressive fitness feats coming your way!
