The term “versatility” is a funny term. We hear it so much that I think we almost become immune to the marketing of the word. I can’t blame most people for being skeptical, cynical, and often have a giant roll of the eyes when they hear all the “versatility” of piece of fitness equipment offers.
All you have to do is wake up early on a Sunday morning and you can see it for yourself. Turn on the television and there are easily a dozen of fitness infomercials bragging about their equipments versatility. The problem though really isn’t the term, but the misuse of it that devalues the real intent of versatility.
The truth is that versatility simply means having a wide variety. So, these companies aren’t lying to you that their equipment has a wide variety of exercises, the real issue is the quality of the exercises. One of the few tv shows that I try to catch is “The Big Bang Theory”. I love Jim Parsons’ character, Dr. Sheldon Cooper.
His honesty and misunderstanding of social conduct serves for some great laughs. One of my favorite scenes is where the Howard Wolowitz character asks Sheldon for a compliment about his skills as an engineer. Sheldon laughs and says, “uh, I have never said that you are not good at what you do. It’s just that what you do is not worth doing.”
Now of course I am not saying that about engineers, but I am saying this is many of the exercises that these infomercials show do fall in line with Sheldon’s thoughts. I’ve always said that it is not just versatility that is important, but solving needs that is far more important.
When we run our DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training educational programs, I start by emphasizing that our DVRT system is not about the Ultimate Sandbag. It is what DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training allows us to accomplish that other tools and programs can not.
Let’s look at some of our top DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training drills and a few of those that may be misunderstood.
DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training Rotational Lunge: You see this drill time and time again in our programs, because it is just so darn good! What makes the DVRT Rotational Lunge so powerful? In Ultimate Sandbag Training we see not just weight or reps, or even sets, but what is known as planes of motion as well. Don’t worry, if this sounds weird just think about our daily lives. We move in all types of angles and positions. However, in the gym we often just move up and down.
DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training believes in progressively moving people to exercises where we train like we do in real life. We learn how to not just move up and down, but resist motion, stabilize, develop power, learn to decelerate, all things that constitute real functional training. That is at the very essence of DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training Rotational Lunge.
DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training Lateral Bag Drag: Probably one of the most misunderstood Ultimate Sandbag Training drills, the Lateral Bag Drag is like nothing else. People often think this drill is about moving the Ultimate Sandbag from one side to the other and disregard the whole purpose of this Ultimate Sandbag Training drill.
The whole point of the Lateral Bag Drag is to teach the integration of the lower body, the core with the upper body. Basically to teach your body how to work together to produce incredible strength, but stability as well. The actual drag of the Ultimate Sandbag is so very important and trying to resist ANY movement of the body becomes far more the challenge. In DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training we try to teach anti-rotation first which teaches how to properly support our joints and allows us to progress to more challenging drills.
Are These DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training Drills Really Different?
Even if we look at more common place Ultimate Sandbag Training drills like biceps curls, bent-over rows, overhead presses, they are far more than what you may think. The unique weight distribution of the Ultimate Sandbag changes even these exercises to something brand new.
Looking at the biceps curl usually as we bring the weight upwards, the amount of stress on the arms decreases. However, with the lower center of mass that the Ultimate Sandbag provides stress throughout the entire range of motion. Same with Ultimate Sandbag Training rows. Not only do the handles allow us so many different gripping options which stimulates different muscles, the fact the center of mass is further from the handles makes the weight always feel heavier during Ultimate Sandbag Training. These little nuances gives more “functional” versatility to all your Ultimate Sandbag Training drills.
The reason that we provide these blogs is to show you how much you get in DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training with minimal investment! If you have the Ultimate Sandbag that is the step in the right direction, but USING DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training is when things can completely change your life!
