I love the opportunity to share posts where we just focus on some great workout examples. Of course I have great passion for teaching a lot about the why’s, but I know you guys sometimes really benefit from just seeing how. So, these 3 DVRT full body workout programs are great examples of how we bring science to real world training.

Sometimes starting off with strong foundations is the best way to not only feel more comfortable in our Ultimate Sandbag workouts, but helps stop all the feelings of being overwhelmed by ALL you can do with the USB. The above series by Coach Cari Satre is a great example of this as she does a great job pairing Ultimate Sandbag exercises that make for a balanced and complete workout. Pairing lower and upper body movements are not just great for Ultimate Sandbag workouts, but any form of training as the fatigue can be managed in a better way to build both strength and fitness.

This workout by Coach Satre helps balance stability and strength training at the same time. Instead of doing exercises that are really difficult but not all that good in building better strength and stability (which happens quite often) having Ultimate Sandbag workouts like those above make much more sense. Even a drill like the 1/2 kneeling T-spine rotational press, we ONLY want movement from the t-spine and nothing happening from the lumbar. Good stability training is allowing movement t where you want it and preventing unwanted movement from where you don’t!

Coach Robin Paget gives us our final great example of strong Ultimate Sandbag workouts. We have elements of power, strength, stability, mobility, and conditioning, sounds pretty good right?! When people don’t think they can build muscle or great strength with functional training that Ultimate Sandbag workouts provide I love to give them examples like these. Plus, Robin does an awesome job of showing how to smartly integrate other tools to maximize what each training tool does well.

Strong training doesn’t have to be super complicated, nor does it have to be the “same ole, same ole”. The more we understand about how our bodies are designed to move, the more we see how much more in our training we can accomplish if we challenge ourselves to appreciating the complexity of human movement. That also doesn’t mean we can’t learn these ideas step by step which is what DVRT is all about!
