We all end up out of our comfort zones. It may come in different ways, but I’ve learned to really be successful or to make an impact, you have to sometimes take a big breathe and just go for it! For me, that meant going from working with predominately orthopedic patients to those with neurological issues. That may not sound like a big deal, but it is a totally different approach and considerations.
That is even I was surprised this past week when working with a patient I couldn’t believe how much DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training came into play. My patient had some issues that impacted balance and body awareness, her movements were all over the place. Trying to think of a solution I came to realize it was under my nose all the time with Ultimate Sandbag Training Press Outs.
Yea, that exercise that you watch someone else do and you wonder why they are grimacing like they are lifting the heaviest weight ever, even though it is 10-15 pounds. What the heck right?!
Like anything else, you can only appreciate what DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training is doing when you get the why’s. When Josh first had me try the Press Out, I too was shocked at how stinkin’ hard it was! I was shaking, trembling, I could feel muscles I didn’t know I had. Most importantly though was I was understanding how to link my body together.
What makes the DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training Press Out so great is not only does it use leverage to help you groove proper movement, but it teaches this while utilizing the right muscles. What do I mean? For example, people do SO well in squatting with the Press Out because they learn how to use the lats, core, and hips all together. This is even MORE powerful than performing supported squats because when you are artificially supported you don’t learn to use your body.
Of course, one of the obvious questions is, “can’t I Press Out with anything, I don’t NEED an Ultimate Sandbag right?!” While we will never strong arm you into using or buying an Ultimate Sandbag, I will tell you it is different. As you can see in the video, the feedback you get is pretty different and so is the result. However, DVRT Master, Paige Fleischmann, sums it up well!
“I was always told that if I had a problem I wanted to complain about to at least come with a solution! Pam came into TI FITNESS complaining of lower back pain but also wanting to get back into a good program. After some assessment and mobility testing I concluded that she had somewhat of a weak transversus abdominis, tight inner thighs and overactive anterior deltoids. Today we decided to test out the same exercise but using different tools. As we say in DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training “you cant use a screwdriver to put a nail in the wall” The dumbbell did nothing to stimulate her core. The plate kept her posture but not much else especially when we decided to try a heavier weight and she only felt it in her shoulders. The kettlebell works well for core strength and stability but we weren’t getting the retraction of the shoulder blades that we wanted. Finally we tried using the #ultimatesandbag and it proved to do everything we needed. It’s all about finding the right tool for the right job that doesn’t mean that I will never use a kettle bell or dumbbell or await plate for anything else it just means that in this particular case the ultimate sandbag was the best choice for the problem we were trying to solve.”
