Does fitness always have to be complicated? I know, sometimes it may sound like DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training is a lot harder than it has to be. In all honesty though, once you learn the simple principles of the system, DVRT is SUPER easy.
One of the best ways to illustrate this point was a workout created by the great DVRT coaches at Envision Fitness in Maple Ridge, BC. They came up with “12th Man Workout” and although I am not sure how I feel about the nod to the Seattle Seahawks (being an Arizona Cardinal fan after all), the workout is really solid from a lot of stand points.
Super easy to follow, it is 3 exercises, each done for 12 repetitions, as many rounds as you can do in 12 minutes. Gentleman, you should aim for at least a 60 pound Strength Ultimate Sandbag, ladies, a 40 pound Ultimate Sandbag would be a great starting point.
Now the drills are a nice mix. A bent-over row to show core stability/endurance, pulling strength, and ability to own the hip hinge pattern. The clean to fist shows accuracy of movement, power, and jacks up your cardio! The thruster hits the whole body from head to toe and is one of the biggest “bang for your buck” exercises.
Try this DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training workout and post on our Facebook page HERE how you did! If you can get 5 rounds or more, you are probably ready to move up in weight! For a real challenge, guys hit a 100 pound Burly Ultimate Sandbag, ladies, a 60 pound Strength and enjoy the simple aspects of fitness!
