3 Ways to Get Fit Faster with Ultimate Sandbag Workouts

sandbag training

Ultimate Sandbag workouts are tough, don’t get me wrong, they are really tough! That doesn’t mean you can’t tailor them for your own goals, but the question is how can you get more out of them? We having been giving you a ton of ideas of how to construct your own Ultimate Sandbag workouts, but making them right for YOU is really important. We want to do more to show you how to customize your own Ultimate Sandbag workouts and all the options you have available to you!

1. Ultimate Sandbag Workouts in Multiple Planes

Working in multiple planes of motion is new for a lot of people. Most exercises work in what we call the sagittal plane (think of this as forward and backwards). So, push-ups, squats, rows, pull-ups, cleans, all these exercises work in predominately sagittal plane. Is that wrong? No, it is not wrong, but in Ultimate Sandbag workouts it is a means we can increase the intensity of your workouts by changing the plane of motion you train.

For example, in today’s 3/6/9/12 Ultimate Sandbag workouts, we begin with the Rotational Cleans. This creates a new way to stimulate muscles in the body and even though we are using less weight, the body has to work harder to coordinate and balance in these motions. The Shucking takes us through the frontal plane which not only makes the exercise feel new and challenging, but works some of the important stabilizers that are important in preventing low back injuries. Nice that Ultimate Sandbag workouts can both burn a ton of calories and make you actually healthier!

2. Ultimate Sandbag Workouts Interval Training

We use interval training a lot in our Ultimate Sandbag workouts for one reason, they work! Intervals refer to a specific work time followed by rest time. You will see the focus from performing a specific number of repetitions to a time frame. Often times we use a time frame of 15 to 30 seconds, yes you COULD go up to a minute, but that small jump is a big one! The same can be said of the rest time you get. Typically you would see a rest interval of 30 to 60 seconds, the closer they match up the work time interval the more challenging the Ultimate Sandbag workouts.

Why do these interval Ultimate Sandbag workouts work so darn well? Interval training overall has shown to burn more calories post-workout than most standard types of cardio that tend to only burn calories during the time you actually spend training. In other words, your metabolism is really spiked up for a 12-16 hour time frame, not bad right?Using our Ultimate Sandbag workouts adds another dimension because in most interval programs, people eventually start moving faster to get more repetitions during their interval. However, when you try to move faster with your Ultimate Sandbag lifts, the weight of the Ultimate Sandbag actually becomes more unstable. Unlike other fitness programs, you are getting more challenges which means more muscles working which, you guessed it, means better overall results! Combine this with our idea of multi-planar training and you have an amazing fitness program.

3. Ultimate Sandbag Workouts for Instability

A concept we talk a lot about in our DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Certifications is that of instability. Why should you care about instability? The idea of instability in Ultimate Sandbag workouts play a major role, but not for the reasons that everyone typically thinks! Most people think of Ultimate Sandbags as unstable, well not all the time. Smaller Ultimate Sandbags are perfect for people to perform more complex drills such as MAX Lunges, Half Moon Snatches, Arc Presses and so much more. These exercises show a different dimension of instability which we have shown to burn more calories than exercises even with DOUBLE the weight! The instability here comes from the fact that the Ultimate Sandbag is moving in all these different patterns that most people never even touch with most fitness programs.

So, if small Ultimate Sandbags work towards one type of instability, you guessed it, larger Ultimate Sandbags actually hit on the more traditional idea of sandbags which is a shifting and moving weight. When you perform ANY type of exercise with larger Ultimate Sandbags it gives them a whole new feel because no two repetitions are the same! That is why DVRT Ultimate Sandbag workouts are WAY more than most people ever expect. Not just in the challenge, but the results they get too!
