This past weekend was a sad and happy time. It was the last Perform Better Summit of the year. For those that may not know, Perform Better offers one of the most well respected educational conferences for fitness pros, strength coaches, and therapists around. I’ve had the great honor of being a part of the summits for the past 8 year and love bringing DVRT Ultimate Sandbag workouts to new people and bring more light to our existing fans.
This was the first year two things happened for me, the first time I got to lecture and the the first time I got to present at all four of the Summits. I think both are so cool because that means we can reach more people and we get to explain the science of Ultimate Sandbag workouts.
The what?
Yea, there is a lot of science to what we are doing with our DVRT Ultimate Sandbag workouts, but people can only get to that part of our program if they can give what we are doing a chance. There are still some people that get really stuck on the tool we use rather than HOW and WHY we are using it.
When you think about it, it is funny to think about any of our fitness tools being anything super advanced. I mean, a kettlebell has been self described as a “cannon ball with a handle”, a barbell is a long piece of metal you put metal wheels on, and suspension trainers are straps that you do bodyweight exercises upon. None of these tools by themselves are powerful. It is the intent, purpose, and use you put behind them that give them power.
However, I digress and I forgot something! The other really amazing part of this past weekend is to see how many other great coaches are endorsing DVRT Ultimate Sandbag workouts. Not because “sandbags” are becoming a thing, instead, because they see the solutions that DVRT Ultimate Sandbag workouts offer for better fitness results in all aspects.
That is the key and why we don’t just throw random exercises or you, or why we take the time to explain what a movement does. We talk about the power of the Ultimate Sandbag isn’t the bag, but rather your intent and how you use it.
What are we REALLY trying to do with our Around the World exercise? Find out what and some of the common mistakes people make!
If you understand what we are trying to do in connect the chains of the body more efficiently to create stronger, more resilient, and better looking bodies then you start to really “get” what we are doing with our DVRT Ultimate Sandbag workouts.
Little things like “pulling the handles apart”, “gripping the ground”, alignment of the Ultimate Sandbag and the body play such a HUGE role in the results you get or you don’t get. We like to think about strength training as not trying to lift a weight, but rather moving your body so well that the weight becomes an extension of the body. Using the Ultimate Sandbag with the intent we discuss allows you to tap into making the body stronger, smarter, and flat out better in every way.
Progressions are a HUGE part of our DVRT Ultimate Sandbag workouts along with our little nuanced techniques. When you understand where you are going with an exercise and how you got there the value of our tools, exercises, and programs.
One of the best strength coaches in the world, Mike Boyle, knows better than most that it is the why’s that lead to real results.
The reason we get fitness results no one else does is not because there is some “magic” of Ultimate Sandbag workouts, but simply, we are just trying to show people how the body really works and with that knowledge how we create better exercises and Ultimate Sandbag workouts.
