What does it take to get fit?
I use to think a lot! A big facility, tons of cool looking equipment, and a bad ass attitude.
One thing I have learned over the years is that of those ideas, probably the last one is the only true one. Attitude!
The truth is, my workouts have gone from using a ton of different equipment (DVRT Master Troy Anderson would give me a BIG amount of grief about this) to really just a few.
In my early years you would find me trekking all around my studio, going from one station madly to another. C’mon, you have to know a little of what I am talking about?
After all I had to get my barbell work in, my medicine ball drills, my cable chops, my speed band training, my strongman, whew!
For some of you, this may sound like fun and truthfully it was for me, for a bit.
As I got busier I had to become more laser focused. When I developed more responsibilities both in work and at home I couldn’t screw around just doing a lot of stuff (yes, today I can look back and admit that probably a lot of stuff was unnecessary).
Do you know what that is like? Do you know even being in the fitness industry what it is to feel like squeezing in a training session could be the biggest challenge of the day?
I hear yah! Here was the problem though. How do you not compromise? After all, why in the world would I want to do something that would make me less fit than the great training I was doing before? I would rather give up a dozen different things than to lower what I was doing in the gym!
Then I learned, it wasn’t about giving up, it was about evolving. It wasn’t about working longer, or with more stuff, it was about being more efficient.
When people ask me about DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training, I think they expect me to talk about the unique unstable nature of the Ultimate Sandbag. Some think there is one exercise I am going to go on and on about. Some even think that I really don’t use it and just think it is trendy (that one cracks me up all the time!).
In all honesty though I think about what DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training does for my life and those that work with us.
More efficient, smarter training, huge variety, and yes, all done anywhere you want. Typically, all these ideas don’t go together, but I have found they do. I think THAT is one of the hardest things for people to digest. They THINK they are doing it smarter, they THINK they are being more efficient, but the truth is that the training is anything but!
You can think I am bias (I am because it works!), but I will continue as we have for almost ten years SHOWING you what DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training can do to not only better your fitness, but your life as well.
Today’s training video should be simple. DVRT Master, Troy Anderson, doesn’t move more than 5 feet! However, he doesn’t do the same exercise over and over either. He does TEN different exercises that flow together for a beautiful challenge DVRT Ultimate Sandbag Training workout. Check it for yourself!
