Something that I try hard as I get older into remain and become more open minded. In my youth I can tell you I was very quick and happy to grab a hold of an ideology, belief, something that made me see things in what I thought were very black and white and definitive ways. It made life simpler, but it also meant that I grew to believe many other ways of doing things were wrong! I am hoping that Ultimate Sandbag workouts represent a different way of thinking about integrating many different fitness ideas.
In the past I probably would have told you that things like yoga and Pilates was a nice form of stretching and maybe some recovery. As I have grown though, I have looked to a variety of methods to see commonalities, not really differences. I truly believe this make our DVRT Ultimate Sandbag workouts better, more diverse, and well rounded.
As open as people have been with our DVRT Ultimate Sandbag workouts, I feel like I have to be equally as open. After all, we all tend to be after very similar things, better movement, strength, and well-being.
Having used our DVRT Ultimate Sandbag workouts with people that love yoga, Crossfit, Pilates, Strongman, powerlifting, obstacle racing, you name it, I’ve learned from these people as much as I have taught them.
People like DVRT Coach, Gin Gavran, have helped us rethink about integrating Ultimate Sandbag workouts into Pilates and yoga with her take on all of these in her DVRT Resiliency Program (here)
Seeing them embrace DVRT Ultimate Sandbag workouts gave me the inspiration to saying that DVRT is not “sandbag training”, but training to make you better at all that you love. Hopefully our DVRT Ultimate Sandbag workouts is part of what you love, but I encourage people to try, use, and experience other things.
Does this mean that I don’t believe that Ultimate Sandbag workouts are all that powerful? Not necessarily, I think by doing other and experiencing other things you actually can gain greater appreciation for the ideas, principles, and yes, Ultimate Sandbag workouts we offer. Things sometimes “click” when you have a much broader experience.
